About the Role - Graduate Early Years Teaching Assistant

Have you recently graduated and want to begin your career in education?
A welcoming primary school in Harrow is looking for a Graduate Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their Nursery and Reception team this September.

This role is an excellent stepping stone for graduates considering a future in teaching, special educational needs (SEN), child development, or educational psychology. You’ll gain first-hand experience supporting children aged 3–5 as they build confidence, develop early skills, and discover a love for learning.

Your Responsibilities - Graduate Early Years Teaching Assistant

In this role, you will: Graduate Early Years Teaching Assistant

• Support learning across the Early Years curriculum in Nursery and Reception
• Work closely with children individually and in small groups, including those with additional needs
• Encourage progress in early phonics, reading, writing, and maths
• Help plan and deliver engaging, play-based activities
• Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing, and social interaction
• Assist with daily routines, from playtime to lunchtime

Who We’re Looking For - Graduate Early Years Teaching Assistant

The school would love to hear from graduates who are:

• Educated to degree level (all subjects welcome – Psychology, Sociology, or Education backgrounds are especially valued)
• Enthusiastic about working with young children and making a difference in their early education
• Friendly, patient, and able to build strong relationships with pupils and colleagues
• Considering a long-term career in teaching, educational psychology, or SEN support
• Experienced working with children (preferred but not essential)
