An excellent opportunity has arisen for a creative, dynamic Band 3 RSW, with a passion for providing patient-centred rehabilitation, to join the team.

The role sits within the Rapid Access to Acute Rehabilitation (RAAR) team which is a part of the acute neuro trauma therapy department at the Royal London Hospital. RAAR is an 8 bedded unit that aims to provide early access to rehabilitation for patients who have complex rehabilitation needs following brain injury, spinal cord injury and polytrauma. This role is available full time (37.5hrs/wk) and will include working approximately 1 in 6 weekends.

You will be responsible for assisting the multidisciplinary team (Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Neuropsychologist) and the nursing staff in supporting our patients. This will include implementing therapy programs and supporting patients with their daily care needs to help them progress towards their rehabilitation goals.

· The post holder will be expected to assist in the assessment and treatment of patients on the Rapid Access to Acute Rehab (RAAR) service. This will involve patients who may have complex and varying physical and psychological presentations.


· To assist therapists and/or nurses, work alongside, and carry out delegated treatments, interventions, and functional assessments both individually and in groups..

· To assist the nurses with delivering aspects of daily care such as washing, dressing, feeding, toileting, getting in and out of bed.

To support the daily running of the therapy service including taking responsibility for delegated administrative and organisational tasks
