Summary

The Public Safety Group’s role is to keep the public safe by cutting crime, disrupting the highest harm criminals, protecting the vulnerable and ensuring that our police, fire and rescue services are as efficient and effective as they can be in delivering front line public services. We work with our partners in other government departments, local government and the voluntary sector to develop and implement policy, provide funding, and deliver legislation. As a Lead Technical Delivery Manager within the Home Office Airwave Live Services Team, you will oversee and coordinate multiple integrated delivery teams to successfully deliver sustainability initiatives—specifically network upgrades and improvements. These projects support both the ongoing delivery and maintenance of the existing Emergency Services Network (ESN) and the Airwave Service.

Leveraging your technical expertise and experience in technology, telecommunications, and digital environments, you will ensure delivery meets cost, time, and quality expectations.

You will proactively manage risks and dependencies across various workstreams, maintaining alignment with strategic objectives.

You will collaborate closely with a wide range of suppliers and stakeholders, including colleagues across other government departments, to ensure seamless integration and stakeholder engagement throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing project delivery plans for Sustainability Project in collaboration with ESN Airwave supplier and user organisation.
  • Being responsible for overall project risk, issues, and dependency management, taking input from key Airwave work. Where necessary escalate relevant risks as appropriate.
  • Integrating multiple workstream into a single delivery plan/roadmap and drive projects successfully through to delivery in terms of meeting requirements, quality, timeliness, and cost.
  • Supporting the building of consensus across a large and often diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including Emergency Services representatives and internal workstream leads.
  • Collaborating with /*StartFragment */Emergency Services Mobile Communications Programme colleagues to ensure dependant projects are being tracked and are reflected in any changes to your project.
  • Communicating effectively and appropriately with all the relevant stakeholders during the project delivery, early life support and project closure.
  • Conducting a comprehensive lesson learnt and formal project closure ceremony.
