Long Term Futures are seeking a Behaviour Mentor to work 1:1 with a Year 7 student at a Ofsted rated 'Good' secondary school in Nottingham (NG11), supporting around 950 students aged 11-16. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is confident, resilient and passionate about helping young people overcome barriers, re-engage with learning and build positive routines.
The Role
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 7 student who may display challenging behaviour or become dysregulated.
- Use positive strategies to encourage emotional regulation and maintain engagement in lessons.
- Collaborate with teaching and pastoral staff to implement tailored interventions.
- Act as a role model, helping the student develop confidence, resilience and motivation.
What We're Looking For
- Experience supporting young people with SEN, SEMH or challenging behaviour (education, youth work, or alternative provision experience welcome).
- Confidence in managing challenging situations calmly and professionally.
- A patient, empathetic and consistent approach with strong communication skills.
- Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply).
