A well-established industrial services provider is seeking a Test Shop Operative to join their team in Belfast. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a safety-first environment where quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement are at the core of operations.
Your new role
As a Test Shop Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient handling, testing, and refurbishment of gas cylinders. You will be responsible for maintaining high housekeeping standards, supporting logistics operations, and ensuring compliance with safety and legal requirements.Key responsibilities include loading and unloading vehicles using a forklift in line with safety and legal load distribution guidelines, performing daily safety checks on forklift trucks, processing full and empty cylinders, including sorting and blowing down in designated areas, testing cylinders in accordance with date rotation and safety standards. Refurbishing cylinders under specific programmes outside of standard testing cycles and maintaining site security and cleanliness at all timesMon - Fri days and evenings rotating. 7am - 3pm and 3pm - 11pm
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally you will have GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English, valid forklift licence and experience operating forklifts, high level of safety awareness and personal integrity. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team and flexible and proactive approach to work and continuous improvement. Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
