Summary

A leading international engineering consultancy is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join its multidisciplinary team. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact projects across sectors such as pharmaceuticals, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, and mission-critical facilities.


This position is available on either a permanent or contract basis, depending on candidate preference and project requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead mechanical design from concept through detailed engineering and construction support
  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineering teams
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and client specifications
  • Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, and drawings
  • Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other disciplines to deliver integrated solutions
  • Contribute to business development and proposal preparation
  • Promote innovation and continuous improvement within the mechanical function

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline; Chartered Engineer status preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in mechanical design within consultancy or project delivery environments
  • Proven leadership in delivering complex, multidisciplinary projects
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, utilities, and process systems in regulated industries
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment
