Summary
A leading international engineering consultancy is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join its multidisciplinary team. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact projects across sectors such as pharmaceuticals, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, and mission-critical facilities.
This position is available on either a permanent or contract basis, depending on candidate preference and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical design from concept through detailed engineering and construction support
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineering teams
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and client specifications
- Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, and drawings
- Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other disciplines to deliver integrated solutions
- Contribute to business development and proposal preparation
- Promote innovation and continuous improvement within the mechanical function
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline; Chartered Engineer status preferred
- 7+ years of experience in mechanical design within consultancy or project delivery environments
- Proven leadership in delivering complex, multidisciplinary projects
- Strong understanding of HVAC, utilities, and process systems in regulated industries
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment
