Working Pattern: 7.30 – 8.30am and 3pm – 5.15pm (Term time only including inset days)
Start date: ASAP
Contract Type: Permanent contract for bank staffWe are looking for a passionate and creative play assistant to join our breakfast and after school clubs. This will be on a zero hours-based contract working on a rota basis between 7.30-8.30am and 3pm – 5.15pm during the term time and will include working on the inset days. The rota will be provided in advance.
As a member of the team, you will gain valuable experience assisting the delivering a wide range of engaging and participative childcare activities; working with children from ages 4 - 11. This is a demanding but very rewarding role suited to someone with an interest in supporting children. You should be self-motivated, have good communication skills and be able to engage with children and parents positively. Ideally you have experience working with children, but if not, so long as you have an understanding of the issues involved in the delivery of quality play care; and demonstrable experience of providing and facilitating safe and creative play. We will welcome your application. Your responsibilities will include: • Ensure children are safeguarded in line with the school policies
• Supervise children attending the breakfast and after school club.
• To deliver safe activities with groups of children from all class ranges
• Engage with children encouraging them to participate in activities to promote learning and social development
• Encourage good behaviour
• Encourage fair and caring behaviour among the children, ensuring safety and wellbeing.
• Encourage independence and self-esteem
• Ensure safety and safeguarding procedures are adhered to ensure children are kept safe
