Your new company
Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a two-form entry primary school in Runcorn that is easily accessible via public transport as they are looking to appoint an experienced and reliable teaching assistant for a full-time long-term temporary contract, starting after the half-term. This school requires full-time support within their KS2 SEMH resource provision, where you will be joining a team of 4, consisting of a class teacher and 3 other teaching assistants.
Your new role
In your new teaching assistant position, you will be joining and extremely welcoming and supportive school. You will be based within the KS2 SEMH provision, supporting a small class of 10 pupils that have complex social, emotional, mental health and trauma. You will support the class teacher and other teaching assistants in the smooth delivery of safe and inclusive learning materials by taking a pupil-led approach to the curriculum. Due to the needs of the pupils, they will at times present complex challenging behaviours, so resilience is imperative. Your duties will include:
- Implementation of positive behaviour strategies
- Behavioural and well-being interventions
- 1:1 interventions in core subjects
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK, a minimum of 40 days referenceable classroom experience within the last 2 years, and:
- Experience supporting behavioural needs (SEMH and/or Trauma is preferred)
- An NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning is advantageous but not required
