Summary

Handyman / Maintenance Worker

Summary:

The Handyman/Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of repair and maintenance tasks on buildings, equipment, and facilities. This role ensures all systems operate safely and efficiently while maintaining a clean and functional environment.

Key Responsibilities: General Maintenance & Repairs
  • Perform minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs.

  • Repair or replace faulty fixtures, such as lighting, sinks, faucets, and outlets.

  • Patch and paint walls, repair drywall, and touch up interior/exterior surfaces.

  • Install shelves, cabinets, blinds, and other fixtures as required.

Facility Upkeep
  • Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.

  • Perform preventative maintenance to reduce the risk of breakdowns.

  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of common areas, hallways, stairwells, etc.

  • Replace light bulbs, air filters, and batteries in smoke detectors.

Tools & Equipment
  • Safely operate hand and power tools.

  • Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and tools.

  • Report the need for major repairs or replacements to supervisors.

Property Support
  • Assist with apartment/unit turnover including patching walls, painting, cleaning, etc.

  • Respond to tenant or occupant maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.

  • Ensure all work is compliant with local building codes and safety standards.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a handyman, maintenance worker, or in a related field.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing

  • Ability to read technical manuals and drawings.

  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.

  • Physically able to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform manual tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Vocational training or certification in building maintenance or related trades

  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and local building codes.

Work Environment:
  • May work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • May require working in confined spaces or at heights.

This is a temp ongoing role for the right person . It starts Immediately , Pay is £13.60 p/h and paid weekly

Monday to Friday 08.30 - 4.30
