Recruitment Profile
The Youth Worker (PEF) will work alongside the Community Learning and Development Worker and other members of the PEF Team in developing and delivering targeted intervention for S1 – S3 pupils and support transition to S4.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To work face to face with a targeted group of young people.
2. To work with school staff to plan and facilitate youth work programmes to meet the needs of a targeted group of young people with a focus on closing the poverty related attainment gap.
3. To work with young people and partners such as DYW, CLDS and SDS to raise aspiration and ensure sustained positive destination post school.
4. To support Family Learning for a targeted group alongside CLDS and Home School Link Worker.
5. To take a leadership role in the delivery of the Saltire Award Programme across the whole school in partnership with voluntary sector providers.
6. To facilitate the Youth Achievement Award programme and other award programmes based on the needs, abilities and aspirations of young people.
7. To support school-based youth voice programmes including our Pupil Parliament.
8. To participate in staff training and development as agreed with the CLDS worker and the PEF Team.
9. To safeguard and implement safe working practices with respect to confidentiality, consent, child protection and managing risk appropriately.
Essential
• Higher Grades / Standard Grades or equivalent.
• Qualification related to working with children, young people and/or social and health care.
