Summary

We're looking for a Lead Buyer to join our Group Procurement team based in Rushden.



Location: Rushden - hybrid working available, with 1 day per week required in the office

Hours: 37.5 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.



What will you be responsible for?

As a Lead Buyer, you'll be working within the Group Procurement team, supporting them in delivering value for money, maintaining procurement controls, and providing a high-quality service to Kier stakeholders.

Your day to day will include:

-Handling procurement ticket requests and generating purchase orders

-Managing or supporting tender processes and pricing activities

-Meeting savings targets and documenting cost efficiencies

-Supporting contract implementation and supplier relationship management

-Coaching and mentoring the wider team and acting as a point of escalation



What are we looking for?

This role of Lead Buyer is great for you if:

-You have strong procurement knowledge and experience in construction, highways, or utilities

-You're a confident communicator with excellent negotiation and organisational skills

-You're commercially aware and ideally working towards a CIPS qualification

-You're proactive, collaborative, and able to support and train internal stakeholders
