Summary

Your new company
Hays Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with an extremely supportive and welcoming two-form entry primary school in Runcorn that is at the heart of its local community as they require a qualified and motivated teaching assistant for a full-time temporary contract. This is a long-term position that consists of 1:1 support for a year 6 pupil with behavioural needs.

Your new role
In your new role as a teaching assistant, you will be based in year 6, supporting a male pupil on a 1:1 basis. This pupil is extremely bright and loving but, due to behavioural needs, he is spending the majority of the school day outside class and, as a consequence, is struggling with the curriculum. The school are currently doing everything to support this pupil's attainment but are struggling to meet his needs and, as such, are looking for a committed and experienced teaching assistant with sound knowledge of the KS2 curriculum to support him. To ensure that he meets his full academic potential, you will take a lead on interventions in core subject and behaviour management, implementing positive behaviour strategies that he best responds to. As his behaviour progresses, you will reintegrate him back into the year 6 class and actively encourage his learning. As the school year progresses, you will support with more intense interventions, leading up to SATs preparation.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK, be at minimum Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) qualified, and:

  • Be able to commit to a long-term full-time contract (32.5 hours per week)
  • Have expert knowledge of the KS2 national curriculum
  • Have experience supporting behavioural needs
  • Be able to independently deliver 1:1 interventions in core subjects (Maths, English, Science, etc)

What you'll get in return
If you are successful in your application, you will receive the full support, dedication, and guidance of a senior DfE accredited recruitment consultant, as well as a wide range of benefits, that include:

  • Free training
  • Upfront cost of DBS covered
  • Competitive rate of pay
  • Full holiday entitlement
  • Company pension scheme
  • On-site parking
  • Long-term contract
  • Access to exclusive vacancies
  • Refer a Friend scheme
