Temporary contract for 6 months with possible extension

£13.04/hr - 37hrs/week

Brook Street are currently recruiting for 2 Legislation Administrators - Admin Officer level, to work for the Vehicle Certification Agency, VCA, based in Bristol.

Full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 9 - 5.

Office based for the first 4 weeks, then moving on to 3 days a week in the office. This could increase, as required, for further training or if the business needs dictates.

Parking on site.

You will be an important part of VCA, working across departments to support. This post will be an exciting dynamic role, encompassing a variety of administrative support working, engaging with colleagues in the UK and overseas. This is an ideal opportunity for a highly organised individual, who thrives on responsibility and working and networking with multiple departments and stakeholders within a busy environment.


Main duties:


  • Checking of manufacturer's documentation in order to facilitate the issue of high-quality documentation correctly first time. This will involve referencing and validating against multiple data/information sources.
  • Actively monitor, respond to and file appropriately correspondence received in shared mailboxes.
  • Answering enquiries via MS Teams (calls & messages) and e-mail.
  • Issuing documentation within agreed time frames and SLAs (internal & external) to VCA customers
  • Keeping all VCA stakeholders informed on the progress and extent of current workload in order to facilitate efficient decision making, planning and delivery of work areas.
  • Processing manufacturer applications (type approval & legislative provisions) and accurately transposing information into VCA's systems in line with our processes.
  • Responding to customer requests in a timely manner (observing SLA's where applicable) either directly or by forwarding on to the correct department within VCA.
  • Follow processes to ensure consistency and quality with the ability to be inquisitive and suggest improvements when identified.




Skills Required:

  • Excellent customer service, confident to operate at all levels and be able to escalate to senior colleagues, where appropriate
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective time management, with experience of working to tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Computer literate in Microsoft suite applications, such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Attention to detail and use own initiative


Full training will be given over a 2 week period.

Candidates applying must be able to pass a clear Basic DBS check and provide proof of Right to Work in the UK. You will also need to provide either reference details and/or evidence for education etc for the last 3 years.

The interviews will take place via Teams and you will be expected to provide proof of Level 2 Maths and English - C or grade 4 or above and demonstrate the below behaviours, answering one question on one or two of them.
