We are currently recruiting for a Multi Skilled Operative to join our fantastic team at our Mountsorrel Quarry, in Quorn, near to Loughborough in Leicestershire. This role is commutable from Quorn, Loughborough, Leicester, Melton Mowbray, Coalville, Shepshed, Syston, Glenfield, Ibstock, Sileby, Kegworth, Nottingham, Derby, Grantham, Matlock, Tunstead, Dene, Ashbourne, Oakham, Bardon Hill and the surrounding areas.

Main Responsibilities
Reporting directly to Processing Supervisor. The Multi Skilled Operative will work on the day-to-day operations of crushing and screening fixed plant, carrying out housekeeping tasks and maintaining high safety standards.
Your responsibilities as the Multi Skilled Operative will include (not exhaustive):
- Operating the crushing and screening plant
- Operating Mobile Plant on site
- Working to keep housekeeping around site to a high standard
- Working with other members of the team to ensure that customers get good quality material and on-time deliveries
- Assist the Supervisor and Lead Operator with meeting daily/weekly production targets
- Follow SHE policies and procedures
- Ensure Plant conforms with safety requirements at all times
- Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality responsibilities
- Inspections on the plant and acting on defects and implement remedial action
- Ensure that plant availability is maximised
This position is a Backshift role working Monday – Thursday with a 3pm start time and Fridays, 12pm start. Overtime will be available to meet with our site’s production needs.
For your training period you will be on DAYS (6am start) in order for you to gain complete knowledge and understanding of Site Operations.
The Ideal Candidate
To succeed in the role of a Multi Skilled Operative the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate proven experience operating crushing and screening plant and use of SCADA systems. They will also be able to evidence:
- Strong IT skills
- Knowledge of Plant and previous experience in fixed plant operations
- SCADA Systems experience – preferred
- Good Timekeeping – flexible as to the site requirements
- Good Communication skills – bringing problems to the attention of Line Management
- Full UK manual car Driving Licence with no more than 6 penalty points
Previous experience working in a Plant / Quarry environment would prove highly beneficial; but this is not essential as training will be given to the right candidate via our PODP programme.
