School Science Technician | Ringmer | £13.68 - £15.00 per hour | Temporary | Full Time
This school is seeking a proactive and organised Science Technician to join their dynamic science department. You will play a vital role in supporting practical science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, helping to create a safe and inspiring learning environment for students.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and setting up equipment and materials for practical lessons.
- Assisting teachers during experiments and demonstrations.
- Maintaining and organising laboratory stock, equipment, and chemicals.
- Ensuring health and safety standards are met, including safe disposal of waste.
- Supporting students with practical work when required.
- Managing inventory and ordering supplies.
- Maintaining accurate records and complying with COSHH regulations.
What the school is looking for:
- Previous experience in a science technician role or relevant lab experience (school experience is desirable).
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Good working knowledge of health and safety in a lab environment.
- A science-related qualification.
- A positive attitude and willingness to support both staff and students.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
