Summary

1. The postholder will report to the Estates Mechanical &
Electrical (M&E) Manager.
2. The postholder will possess the necessary skills and qualifications to ensure the safe and continuous operation of the Mechanical & Electrical Engineering services and building plant.
3. The postholder will be an integral member of the Maintenance Team and should be able to demonstrate leadership skills. This will involve planning, organising activities and working across trade groups and with contractors to provide an effective maintenance, repair and installation service which is responsive to the building users.
4. The postholder will be required to carry out technical fault diagnosis, repair and planned preventative maintenance work on all Trust mechanical, electrical, BMS services and related assets. Including any other local Trusts/organisations to which SCFT provides a service.

1. Able to diagnose faults of a complex and technical nature and carry out maintenance and repair work on mechanical and electronic plant and equipment including associated pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and electronic controls and instrumentation. Where applicable, provide the Estates M&E Manager with alternative options to remedy faults and repairs.

4. Assist the Estates M&E Manager in the operation of the Building Energy Management System (BEMS), including system interrogation and investigation/remedy of reported faults and alarms.
5. Use digital test and monitoring instruments for effective plant control, calibration and monitoring.
6. Assist the Estates M&E Manager and the Head of Estates Operations in surveying engineering plant and equipment for plant performance and condition, producing associated basic condition reports.
7. To assist the Estates M&E Manager in the planning and updating of the planned preventative maintenance system.Will adjust the programme in response to service needs.
8. Interpret and work from appropriate instructions, drawings and technical specifications.
9. To accurately record details of works completed including time, date, job content, location and materials used. Update logbooks, registers and other statutory records as directed by the Estates M&E Manager.
10. Assist other Estates staff as instructed by the Estates M&E Manager
