North Yorkshire Council is seeking a detail-driven Intelligence Analyst to join its nationally recognised eCrime team. This role is central to protecting consumers from online harm—whether it’s counterfeit goods, illicit tobacco, or large-scale fraud.
About the Role:
You’ll support the Disruptions Team Leader by conducting online and open-source research to identify harmful content, compiling intelligence logs, and producing actionable intelligence products. You’ll collaborate with trading standards teams across England and Wales, and external partners including the Police and HMRC.
Key Responsibilities:
Detect and research online threats and harmful platforms
Develop intelligence logs and reports to support enforcement
Analyse data from multiple sources and probe for deeper insights
Communicate findings clearly to internal and external stakeholders
Contribute to national efforts to disrupt digital consumer harm
✅ Ideal Candidate:
Intermediate-level experience in data analysis, evidence use, and research
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Background in intelligence development or investigative analysis
Experience in open-source research (advantageous)
Passionate about consumer protection and digital safety
