Summary
Key Responsibilities
Perform carpentry repairs and installations, including doors, windows, frames, furniture, shelving ,and blinds
Conduct statutory routine inspections and maintenance of fire doors and fixtures across campus.
Collaborate with other maintenance staff to address general facility repairs, including minor small works, painting, and flooring tasks.
Respond to work orders promptly, ensuring timely completion of maintenance requests.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
Assist with special projects, such as minor works or event setups.
Participate in an out of hours call out rota
Uphold high standards of health and safety, adhering to all relevant regulations and guidelines.
Qualifications
Proven experience in carpentry/joinery, preferably in a commercial or education setting.
Proficiency with carpentry tools, static woodworking machinery equipment and techniques.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic knowledge of related trades (e.g., painting, tiling, general maintenance) is a plus.
Positive can do attitude
NVQ level 3 or City & Guilds certification or apprenticeship preferred.
A full UK driving licence and the ability to participate in an out of hours call out rota are essential.
