We are seeking a dedicated Support Assistant to join a school for pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities. This role would be extremely rewarding supporting a school who need additional support within their SEND department.
About the role
Pupils with PMLD require specialist support tailored to their individual needs. As a Support Assistant, you will:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support in both classroom and personal care settings.
- Assist with physical and sensory activities designed to engage and stimulate pupils.
- Support pupils in developing communication, independence, and social interaction skills.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and healthcare professionals to deliver consistent, high-quality support.
- Promote a safe, structured environment where every pupil can thrive at their own pace.

- Experience supporting children or adults with SEND.
- Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting pupils with high levels of need.
- Flexibility and a commitment to working as part of a wider support team.
