Summary
Role: FLT Driver (Counterbalance)
• Location: Tarleton, Lancashire, PR4
• Hours: Sunday and Monday (7am - 6pm) each week
• Salary: £14.00 per hour, plus holiday pay
• Contract length: Immediate start, weekly hours until end of October to the middle of November
• Additional hours: Available in an alternative capacity role (Picking and Sorting) on Thursday, Friday and Saturday (7am - 6pm).
NW Recruitment are working with an established business who are seeking an experienced FLT Driver holding valid Counterbalance licence to operate at their busy warehousing and distribution facility in Tarleton, for the duration of the remainder of the season. The position is suited to candidates with a sharp eye for health & safety, strong manual handling capabilities, and experience stacking double height pallets indoors and outdoors.
What’s on offer:
• 1 hour 25-minute breaks per day: Morning: 20 minutes (paid), Lunch: 30 minutes (unpaid), Afternoon: 20 minutes (paid), evening: 10-15 minutes (paid)

Key responsibilities:
• Operate counterbalance trucks (Mitsubishi or Linde truck) safely and efficiently.
• Handle loads of up to 3 tonnes, stacking on pallets up to three double pallets high (approximately 6.6 - 8.8 metres reach).
• Conduct both indoor and outdoor FLT operations, navigating safely around a high-traffic yard.
• Stack and retrieve pallets accurately and securely at height, adhering to safe stacking protocols.
• Perform routine FLT safety checks and maintenance inspections before each shift.
• Ensure working areas remain clean, hazard-free, and compliant with health & safety regulations.
• Coordinate effectively with warehouse and yard staff to maintain operational flow.
• Effectively communicate with management on any identified risks or issues.
Essential requirements:
• Valid and current Counterbalance FLT licence (issued within the past 30 months).
• Proven stack height experience: able to stack double pallets up to three layers high (6.6 – 8.8 m reach).
• Comfortable lifting and manoeuvring loads of up to 3 tonnes.
• Strong awareness of health, safety and emergency procedures in busy yard environments.
• A professional attitude, reliability, and a flexible approach to the role.
Desirable attributes:
• Previous experience in handling and manoeuvring fragile items.
• Knowledge of HSE guidelines and standard warehouse / yard risk.
• Confident and effective communication with site teams and supervisors.
