Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join our team. You will support our pupils both in the classroom and around the school, working closely with teachers and other staff to ensure all learners can access the curriculum and reach their potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to pupils with autism and complex learning needs

• Assist in the delivery of engaging and accessible lessons

• Promote positive behaviour, communication, and independence skills

• Support personal care and wellbeing, where required

• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to achieve the best outcomes for pupils

• Contribute to creating a safe, caring, and stimulating learning environment

Key Requirements:

• Be able to follow the school’s Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy and procedures and undertake mandatory Safeguarding training as directed by the school.

• English and maths at Level 2 (GCSE Grade C or 4 above) or functional skills or a willingness to undertake a functional skills qualification.

• Proven successful experience working with or caring for children in any setting.

• Ability to evaluate own learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities.

• An ability to approach the management of challenging behaviour with sensitivity and patience and via a team-based approach.

• Patience, empathy, a positive ‘can do’ disposition, flexibility and 100% commitment to supporting young people with disabilities
