What skills and experience we're looking for
We are currently looking to a recruit a Mechanics Teacher/Lead Mechanics Tutor. We are a Specialist School for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH).
This is an excellent opportunity for a practical and motivated educator to deliver hands-on vocational lessons that inspire young learners and support their future progression. As a Mechanics Teacher, you will play a vital role in engaging students through the delivery of engaging motor vehicle and mechanical workshops. Working in small groups, you will support learners in building confidence, developing new skills, and working towards recognised qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Initiatingand encouraging children to engage intheagreedschoolcurriculum andschemesof work. You must be well-planned, engaging and creative and support for children should be provided. You will be expected to contribute fully to the school process of self-evaluation and development, as well as having regard for you own professional development. The ideal candidate will have:
§ A strong knowledge of Motor Vehicle programmes of study (such as City and Guilds or IMI)
§ Relevant qualifications
§ Experience in teaching Mechanics
§ A firm understanding of the Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements
§ A genuine passion for working with children with the commitment that the children are at the centre of everything you do
Excellent communication skills with children, their families and your colleagues
