Summary
Key Responsibilities Clinical Practice Conduct comprehensive physical examinations, telephone assessments and clinical assessments. Contribute to triage of clinical requests, helping manage demand efficiently. Diagnose and manage a wide range of acute and chronic health conditions. Prescribe medications within scope of practice and relevant prescribing authority. Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as blood work, X-rays, ECGs, etc. Initiate and manage care plans, including referrals to secondary or specialist care. Provide health education and counselling to patients and their families. Autonomous Decision-Making Practice independently under national and local protocols, with access to medical support when required. Exercise professional judgment in complex and unpredictable situations. Leadership & Collaboration Lead and support clinical decision-making within the multidisciplinary team. Contribute to service development and improvement initiatives. Mentor and support junior staff, nurses, and students. Participate in audits, research, and evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes. Collaborate with the wider practice team to meet patient needs and support practice policies and procedures. Professional Development Maintain clinical competence through continued professional development (CPD). Participate in appraisal and revalidation processes. Stay up to date with relevant legislation, clinical guidelines, and best practices.
