Summary
As a Variable Hours Lecturer - Counselling you will be educating and engaging our students, preparing them for careers in a variety of counselling environments. The skills and knowledge that you teach the students have a real impact on the counselling sector as you will be teaching skills such as active listening, empathy, emotional intelligence, supportive relationships, problem solving and conflict resolution whilst adhering to professional standards and ethical practice. You will be part of a passionate and innovative team where you be supported to achieve your goals in a collaborative, respectful and inclusive environment.
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Plan and deliver high quality and engaging counselling lessons, using up to date vocational knowledge and expertise to ensure the curriculum delivered develops students counselling skills, knowledge and behaviours.
- Have the ability to plan and prepare innovative schemes of work, lesson plans and assessment schedules which motivate students to achieve.
- Plan and deliver highly effective learning programmes for diverse groups or individuals in a safe and inclusive environment, whilst also ensuring students are stretched and challenged to reach their full potential.
- Have extensive Counselling experience and be able to share vocational knowledge to students.
- Monitor and record student progress
- Adhere to professional standards and requirements set by CPCAB
- Adhere to Bucks College Group policies and procedures

Taking Teaching Further
The College actively engages with the Education & Training Foundation's Taking Teaching Further scheme to recruit industry professionals to teach within Further Education.
As industry professionals offer our students industry experience and insight we support our unqualified teachers to learn 'on the job'. You will be given full support throughout your development to fully qualified teacher status. Whilst in employment you would be enrolled onto the Level 3 Award in Education and Training. After completion you can choose to move be onto our Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training qualification. This is a great way for experienced professionals to achieve a recognised teaching qualification whilst in employment.
