The Priory Learning Trust (Somerset Business Award winner for Employer of the Year) is looking to recruit an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work at our West Huntspill Primary School Academy.
This position is a 5 days a week, non-teaching role focused on supporting pupils with SEN requirements in the classroom. This will involve building strong supportive relationships with the pupil, working closely with the class teacher, assisting in planning and adapting learning activities.
We are a small, friendly village school dedicated to improving outcomes for all children and providing first-class pastoral and educational support for all, including those that find traditional teaching environments more challenging.

As part of this role, you will:
Support children in their personal development and progress through school by providing encouragement, rewards, advice and guidance, induction.Help develop positive learning behaviours, working collaboratively with the class teacher.Support children to be successful in our school and beyond.What you will need to succeed:Experience of working within a school is essential.Ability to adhere to working procedures and policies within the school environment.Good oral and written communication skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality.Good ICT skills.Patient, flexible and adaptable, meticulous and conscientious.Experience of working with children with special educational needs.West Huntspill Primary is an Ofsted rated Good school with community at its heart - we focus on developing children and young people into well rounded individuals, who leave school not only with positive outcomes, but also valuable life experiences and an aspirational mindset, with high expectations of, and for, themselves.
