Summary


The Emergency Gynaecology Unit is hoping to recruit a Band 6 Specialist Nurse to the team.
The role of a Band 6 Specialist Nurse involves:
-Coordinating and delegating roles to staff members for the shift
-Interpreting results and planning care
-Reviewing, assessing and examining patients with early pregnancy complications and acute gynaecological issues.
-Providing high quality bereavement care for patients going through pregnancy loss
-Engaging with IQP & looking for ways to move our department forward

The EGU is a consultant-led service that provides emergency care for patients with gynecological concerns or early pregnancy complications

If shortlisted the interview will comprise of a presentation and questions process.



You will need to have completed the Emergency Gynaecology course and competent in :

assessing patients presenting with early pregnancy complications and/or acute gynaecological conditions.

examining patients with early pregnancy complications

plan ongoing care

interpreting results and planning care for patients presenting with early pregnancy complications

Co-ordinating a busy fast paced Gynaecology emergency department

see, treat, discharge/plan for all pregnancy related attendances

EGU is a 24/7 fast paced emergency service. You will be expected to work long days, twilights and night shifts.
