About the Role
Our client, a highly respected and well-established accountancy practice in Tamworth, is seeking an experienced Senior Accounts/Bookkeeper to join their team. Key Responsibilities
• Managing bookkeeping and accounts preparation for a varied portfolio of clients.
• Overseeing and reviewing the work of junior staff, providing mentoring and guidance.
• Advising clients with confidence on technical matters and supporting them in decision-making.
• Handling VAT returns, management accounts, and compliance work.
• Building strong relationships with clients, delivering a first-class service.
• Taking responsibility for quality control and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

The Ideal Candidate
• AAT or ACCA Qualified (full or part-qualified considered with strong practice experience).
• Proven experience in a senior accounting/bookkeeping role within practice.
• Confident, professional, and approachable, with the ability to mentor others.
• Strong decision-making skills with a proactive approach.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability.
• A collaborative team player with the ability to work independently when required.
• Ideally, someone with longstanding experience in practice – perhaps having previously owned or managed their own firm.
• Sage and Excel
