ROLE DESCRIPTION

NCG is seeking an outstanding HE Teaching & Excellence Lead to drive innovation, inclusion, and excellence across our higher education provision. This is a senior academic leadership role with a direct impact on the student experience, teaching quality, and the professional development of colleagues across NCG and its partners.
The Role
As HE Teaching & Excellence Lead, you will:
- Lead the implementation and enhancement of Teaching, Learning and Assessment strategies across NCG and partner providers (both face-to-face and online).
- Champion inclusive and inspirational teaching practices, addressing inequalities and supporting our Access and Participation Plan.
- Contribute to Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) developments, ensuring high standards and continuous improvement.
- Shape and oversee academic professional development, including Advance HE (UKPSF) pathways.
- Foster a culture of innovation, evidence-based practice, and collaboration, ensuring students are challenged, supported, and inspired.
- Build effective partnerships internally and externally, raising the profile of NCG's HE teaching and learning regionally and nationally.
About You
We are looking for a confident and inspiring academic leader with:
- Significant experience of teaching, learning and assessment in a higher education context.
- A strong track record in academic leadership and enhancing teaching quality.
- Proven commitment to inclusive pedagogy and reducing educational inequality.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to lead and motivate colleagues.
- Ideally, a postgraduate qualification and Senior Fellowship of the HEA (or equivalent).
A strong profile in pedagogic scholarship or research, particularly in curriculum design or inclusive practice, will be an advantage.
