Summary
Production Engineer
Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 depending on experience
Duties:
Plan, coordinate, and improve milling processes to achieve production goals
* Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to develop and execute plans for optimising milling processes.
* Utilise technical expertise to streamline milling operations, aiming for reduction in cycle times and tooling costs.
Develop and optimise CNC milling programs for efficiency and quality
* Use deep knowledge of milling processes and machining technology to develop and refine CNC milling programs.
* Continuously improve programs to ensure efficiency and high quality production output.
Select tooling and cutting parameters to maximise productivity and tool life
* Analyse tooling options and cutting parameters to enhance productivity and optimise tool life.
* Ensure cost-effective tooling selection while maintaining high precision and quality standards.
Troubleshoot milling-related issues and implement corrective actions
* Investigate milling-related issues and implement effective corrective actions to minimise downtime and maintain production flow.
* Utilise attention to detail to identify and address machining discrepancies and anomalies.
Lead process improvement projects using lean manufacturing principles
* Initiate and lead process improvement projects, applying lean manufacturing principles to enhance milling processes.
* Foster a continuous improvement mindset and drive efficiency improvements throughout the milling operations.
Train and mentor machine operators in advanced milling techniques
* Provide training and mentorship to machine operators, sharing advanced milling techniques and best practices.
* Support the development of technical expertise and collaboration within the production team.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
* Prioritise safety and quality standards in all milling operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Champion a culture of diversity, equality, and inclusion within the production environment.
