Summary
Learning Support Assistant
Location: Crewkerne, Somerset
Contract: Permanent, Part-time (with InSET/training days at the start of each term)
Salary: £21,000 – £24,000 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications)
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a thriving independent setting in Crewkerne. The role involves providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs), helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their learning targets.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys supporting young people and wants to make a real difference to their educational experience.
Key Responsibilities-
Plan and deliver literacy, numeracy and coping strategies on a 1:1 or small-group basis for pupils with SpLDs.

Assist the SENDCo in developing and delivering suitable programmes of support.

Adapt or source differentiated materials to enable pupils to access classwork.

Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to the SENDCo and class teachers.

Write progress reports as required and maintain accurate records.

Promote equality, diversity, safeguarding and high professional standards.

Attend InSET and relevant professional development sessions.
Essential Criteria-
Level 5 SpLD teaching qualification or Level 3 Diploma in Teaching and Supporting Learning.

Teaching or classroom support experience.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Good standard of general education (five GCSEs A–C or equivalent including English and Maths).

IT skills at Level 2.

Experience of working with students with SpLDs.
Desirable:

A teaching qualification.

TEFL/ESOL qualification and/or experience.
