Summary
University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Trust has an exciting opportunity to join the Care of the Elderly team based at the Bristol Royal Infirmary. The successful applicants will be working alongside an established multidisciplinary team of 12 consultants, one associate specialist and two specialty doctors at the BRI. At WGH you will work alongside six Consultants and a specialist geriatrician who oversees two registrars and specialised clinical fellows The successful candidates will carry out their duties across the BRI, WGH and NHS@Home hub. The candidates will be required to participate in additional on-call commitments.
The post holders will support the care of complex, frail older people through our front door frailty service, frailty same day emergency care (FSDEC) and the Older Persons Assessment Unit (OPAU). The front door frailty team is established and expanding to deliver in reach into ED as well as supporting a new FSDEC that is to be launched later in 2025. On alternate weeks, as job planned, the post holders will be delivering NHS@Home based at the hub providing cross cover. The successful candidates will build on the collaborate approach across BNSSG Hospitals Group and future proof the model of care in line with the joint clinical strategy. The NHS@Home team will involve all three acute Trusts to strengthen links with local services.
