£105-£115 per day
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time, long-term (Full Academic Year)

Long Term Futures is seeking a resilient and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child in Reception with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This role will focus on helping a pupil who experiences high emotional dysregulation, cannot verbalise, and at times requires calm physical support to be guided safely around the setting. The school are particularly keen to appoint a male TA for this position, due to the nature of the support needed.

About the Role

This is a hands-on and rewarding role, where your day-to-day will include:
- Providing calm and consistent 1:1 support for a non-verbal child with ASC.
- Using strategies to manage emotional dysregulation and behaviour challenges, helping the pupil feel safe and settled.
- Offering practical support during transitions, including guiding or carrying the pupil safely where necessary.
- Encouraging participation in Reception activities and routines using sensory and visual approaches.
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCo to adapt strategies and monitor progress.

Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience supporting children with ASD and behavioural needs, ideally in Reception or Early Years.
- A calm, resilient, and patient approach, able to de-escalate situations effectively.
- Confidence in managing physical behaviours and providing safe handling when required.
- Understanding of non-verbal communication and sensory regulation strategies.

Why Work with Long Term Futures?
- Access to long-term placements in welcoming, supportive schools.
- Weekly pay through our straightforward digital system.
- Free CPD opportunities, including behaviour management and SEN strategies.
- Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant who understands your role.
