Hours: 35 per week | 09:00–17:00
Contract: 13th October – 3 to 6 months
Rate: £22.55 PAYE / £28.30 Umbrella
Enfield Council is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Homeless Housing Coordinator to join their Initial Assessment Team within Housing & Regeneration. This vital role supports the borough’s Early Help strategy, helping residents threatened with homelessness to sustain accommodation or secure suitable housing.
Role Overview
You’ll work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to prevent or delay homelessness, reduce reliance on temporary accommodation, and improve long-term housing outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting initial homelessness assessments and providing expert advice
Supporting applicants to access private rented accommodation or sustain current housing
Applying knowledge of welfare benefits, housing legislation, and homelessness case law
Managing cases involving possession orders, evictions, and safeguarding concerns
Contributing to multi-agency working and housing sustainment strategies

Strong understanding of the Homelessness Reduction Act and housing policy
Experience in homelessness decision-making and legal frameworks
Knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults and children
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
