Summary

Positioned within IT Operations, Service Operations Design and Transition work hand in hand to shape the Service Management characteristics of a service or product as a project navigates through delivery.

As a Senior IT Service Design Manager, you will use extensive experience in service management and service operations with expertise in design. Ensuring that our services meet business and service needs is paramount. You will lay the foundations for live service.

Service Operations Design is aligned to the ITIL Service Management framework. Therefore, as a Senior IT Service Design Manager, you will work closely with stakeholders across design, architecture, IT Operations and beyond.


As a Senior IT Service Design Manager, your responsibilities include:

  • Bringing extensive experience in service management and service operations, with a strong focus on service design. You will operate in a delivery-driven environment, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and demonstrating leadership at a management level.
  • Facilitating the use of IT Service Design and Transition processes for Digital, working between different programmes and functions with varied demands and service levels.
  • Producing artefacts relevant to the role of IT Service Designer, such as a Service Design Pack.
  • Participating and sharing ideas to enable advanced planning, building strategies to standardise and automate, and encouraging shift-left activities.
  • Challenging the status quo and providing innovative ideas, thinking outside the box while understanding industry standards and what it takes to deliver a quality service.
  • Applying strong analytical skills and attention to detail, absorbing large amounts of conflicting information to produce simple designs.
  • Thriving on your ability to work to demanding deadlines whilst ensuring quality.
  • Ensuring services have full end-to-end support in place and relevant KPIs and SLAs before going live, prioritising IT Service Operations Design activities, and resolving conflicts based on organisational priorities.
