Role outline:

Responsible for overseeing the transition of miniature electronic products from the development stage into full-scale manufacturing, ensuring a smooth launch by collaborating with design, engineering, and production teams to develop manufacturing processes, create detailed documentation and optimise production readiness for new products and product changes.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

• Reviewing product designs to identify potential manufacturing challenges and recommend design modifications for efficient production.
• Creating detailed manufacturing processes, including assembly procedures, tooling requirements, and quality control protocols.
• Overseeing the creation of prototypes, conducting testing and validation to ensure product functionality and performance meets specifications.
• Developing comprehensive BOMs, including components, materials, and quantities required for production.
• Writing clear and concise work instructions for release to manufacturing operators.
• Estimating production costs and identifying cost-saving opportunities throughout the NPI process.
• Managing NPI projects, tracking timelines, and ensuring deliverables are met.
• Working closely with design engineers, quality engineers, production teams, and procurement to facilitate a seamless transition to production.
• Management of end-of-life components and parts to ensure production lines are kept uninterrupted.
• Maintain close relationships with third party suppliers to resolve production issues and ensure efficiency and continuation of supply of AUEM products to customers.

Key Competencies

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes like machining, assembly, and testing
• Proficiency in CAD software for design review and analysis
• Experience with project management methodologies
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Knowledge of quality control principles and standards
• Ability to analyse data and troubleshoot manufacturing issues
