Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual for the position of Team Manager in Leaving Care & Children Looked After, Grade 10. This role is vital in ensuring that our support services are delivered effectively to vulnerable children and young people in care and those transitioning to independent living. As a Team Manager, you will lead and inspire a team of social workers and support staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, respect, and excellence. You will be responsible for the strategic management of services aimed at improving the life chances of children in care and care leavers, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and best practice guidelines. This position requires a commitment to promoting the rights and well-being of children and young people, advocating for their needs and ensuring their voices are heard. You will manage budgets, oversee case allocations, and monitor performance standards, all while working closely with other agencies and stakeholders. Your leadership will be key in enhancing the skills and capabilities of your team through supervision and training, driving positive outcomes for children and families. Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of social workers and support staff in Leaving Care and Children Looked After services.
Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations, policies, and best practices in the care of children and young people.
Develop and implement strategic plans to improve service delivery and outcomes for children in care and care leavers.
Monitor and evaluate the performance of the team, providing regular feedback and support to team members.
Manage budgets related to the Leaving Care and Children Looked After services, ensuring efficient use of resources.
Facilitate multi-agency collaboration to ensure holistic support for children and families.
Advocate for the needs and rights of children and young people, ensuring their voices are central to decision-making processes.
Requirements
A social work qualification recognized by the relevant regulatory body.
Substantial experience in social work, particularly within children’s services and looked after children.
Strong leadership and management skills, with a proven ability to inspire and develop a team.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and professionals.
A thorough understanding of legislation and policies related to child welfare, including safeguarding and looked after children.
Experience in managing budgets and understanding financial implications related to service delivery.
Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on best practices in social work.
