Summary

SCHOOL CATERING MANAGER

Salary: £27,052.95 per annum
Working Hours: Permanent, Full Time, 40 hours per week, Mon - Fri from 7:00 - 15:30 Term Time only.
Location: Abbeyfield School, SN15 3XB

An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced Catering Manager at Abbeyfield School in North Wiltshire. This full-time role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 7am until 3:30pm.

In this role as Catering Manager, you will have a direct impact on the quality of food and service at our outlets. By leading a team of five Catering Assistants and a Supervisor, you will ensure a high level of customer satisfaction while upholding the highest hygiene standards.

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, low-cost food that meets school nutritional guidelines and customer expectations

Please note this is a term time only contract

Main Duties & Responsibilities will include:
Team Leadership: Lead and motivate the catering team, handling all recruitment, training, and on-site HR issues professionally.
Operational Management: Plan shifts, manage rotas, and ensure strict compliance with all health and safety regulations, including G4S's Food Safety Management System.
Financial Control: Manage the budget, control financial outputs, and maintain accurate records to ensure profitability.
Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of product and service quality while managing stock levels and liaising with suppliers.
Client Relations: Nurture relationships with customers and clients, negotiating contracts and ensuring their needs and hospitality requirements are met.

Experience & Skills:
City & Guilds 706 1&2 or an equivalent NVQ qualification.
Excellent culinary skills and a strong background in large-scale catering.
An Intermediate (Level 3) Food Hygiene Certificate.
Proven experience in managing catering services.
Strong leadership, planning, and organisational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices.
