Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

York High School is looking for two enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as Attendance Support Workers, working with Pastoral and SEN leaders to improve the attendance of identified pupils.

The successful candidates will need to be confident and able to communicate effectively with students, parents/carers and staff. You will be required to travel independently to the homes of pupils and therefore you should have your own car and insurance for business use. You will also be approachable and able to work collaboratively with parents/carers. It would be advantageous to have a working knowledge of SIMS and be a confident user of IT systems.

The trust will be undertaking a job evaluation exercise in the near future and, therefore, the grade for this position may change.

We would strongly encourage any prospective candidate to visit the school. Please email Dawn Becton at d.becton@yorkhigh.elt.org.uk if you would like to arrange a visit to the school.

Further details about our school are available on our school website: www.yorkhighschool.co.uk

An application form, job description and person specification are available on the Trust website: Careers - Excel Learning Trust

Please email applications to recruitment@elt.org.uk marked for the attention of Mr Gavin Kumar, Principal.

Interviews will be held during the week commencing 13 October 2025.

Excel Learning Trust reserves the right to close advertisements early. Advertisements will therefore close at midnight either on the advertised closing date, or at the point the decision has been taken to close the advertisement early. Applicants will be invited for interview once suitable applications are received, therefore early applications are strongly encouraged and advised.

What the school offers its staff

In return, we can offer a supportive working environment, with colleagues who care deeply, are experts in their fields and who are passionate about what they do.
