SALARY: £32,916 - £49,232 (MPS-UPS 2) + SEN Allowance £2,787 + TLR 2 £6,950

JOB OVERVIEW

We have an exciting new job opportunity for an enthusiastic, creative and forward-thinking school leader to become an Academic Achievement and Progress Manager.

Swalcliffe Park School provides specialist residential education and care for around 70 secondary aged boys (10-19 yrs) all of whom are on the Autism Spectrum. As the Academic Achievement and Progress Manager you will be a member of the School’s Management Team, where your role will be pivotal in working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, including SENCO, Exams Officer, Key Stage co-ordinators and therapists to lead the Achievement strand of our framework.


DUTIES

Your duties as the Academic Achievement and Progress Manager will include:

Working with Students:

• Bring innovation and creativity to the timetable to meet the students’ needs, aptitudes and aspirations

• Contribute to the content and implementation of the Curriculum policy

• Contribute to the oversight of Key Stage 4 provision

• Ensure effective tracking of student Achievement progress

• Ensure all students have an up-to-date Achievement Plan

• Analyse Achievement data and examination results to inform future planning

• Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of examinations’ compliance and administration

• Ensure baseline testing is carried out for new students

• Plan and deliver lessons as appropriate

• Write termly keyworker reports

Working with Families:

• Contribute to the timely production of Annual Review and End of Term reports

• Quality assure Annual Review and End of Term reports

• Attend Annual Review meetings to represent Achievement

• Organise and lead Progress Days and Pathways events including relevant resources

• Provide information to families through Headlines

• Contribute to Family Forum events

• Liaise with families on Achievement issues for student admission and transition into school

• Liaise with families on Achievement issues for student transitions out of school


CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

As an Academic Achievement and Progress Manager you will have:

• Relevant Honours Degree for subject teaching

• Qualified Teacher Status

• Evidence of recent and continuing professional development in your professional field and its relevance to this post

• Teaching and school management

• Working with children, young people and/or adults with ASC

• Applying safeguarding policies and procedures

• Collating and maintaining quality student portfolios

• Understanding and maintaining professional boundaries with students and their families

• Working within confidential and data protection boundaries

• Using IT systems for a variety of related purposes

• Relevant safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance, for example, the latest KCSIE guidance

• Awareness of Health & Safety practice in an Education and/or Care environment
