Summary

Are you a team player and self-motivated individual? Do you want to learn and develop in local government supporting Revenues and Benefits? Ashfield District Council are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our Revenues and Benefits Services team.

On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for dealing with the collection of Council Tax, Business Rates, Overpaid Housing Benefit and Corporate Sundry Debtors in accordance with legislation, local policies, and strategies. Excellent customer service and negotiating skills are essential, together with the ability to make decisions and work as part of a team.

Working as a Recovery Officer at Ashfield District Council is a challenging but rewarding role. You will need to be flexible in your approach and be able to adapt to changing demands of the Service. In return we offer hybrid working where the successful applicant will join a small team of friendly and supportive colleagues working from home but mainly from our work base at our Kirkby-in-Ashfield Council Offices.
Previous experience working in a Revenues and Benefits or recovery role would be an advantage however, we will consider candidates who can show they have experience in a similar environment and who can bring relevant skills that would show they can develop into the role by undertaking the necessary training.
