Summary

Key Tasks: To participate in all housekeeping duties on the Inpatient Unit (IPU), including cleaning patient rooms, bathrooms, beds and equipment, working to cleaning schedules and Hospice processes. To carry out housekeeping duties to ensure communal areas, day services, staff offices and staff areas e.g. corridors and toilets, working to cleaning schedules and Mountbatten processes. To be responsible for following Mountbatten guidelines for colour coded equipment and follow safe working practices including, but not limited to Health and Safety guidelines, Infection Control and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health). To dispose of waste following the correct standards and requirements, in accordance with infection control procedures. Taking down and hanging of curtains. Always follow safe working practices, particularly about the use of electrical equipment, and maintain personal awareness of Health & Safety, bringing to the attention of the appropriate manager any risks identified. To observe complete confidentiality of all information relating to patients, employees, volunteers and hospice business with an awareness of and adherence to the legal requirements of the General Data Protection Regulations. Information relating to identifiable patients, staff or hospice business is not to be divulged to anyone other than authorised persons, for example, medical, nursing or other professional staff, as appropriate, who are concerned directly with the care, diagnosis and /or treatment of the patient. If you are in any doubt whatsoever as to the authority of a person or body asking for information of this nature. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults is expected and training will be given to support this. Attend induction training, annual mandatory training, and any other appropriate recommended training.
