Summary

Culture & Community Partnerships Officer

Full-time: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £26,000 – £28,000 per year (depending on experience)

Location: Liverpool, with some evening and weekend work

Reports to: Chief Executive and Director of Operations

About Be Free Campaign

Be Free Campaign is a youth-led mental health charity working to improve early access to support and tackle inequalities affecting young people.

Our programmes are built on lived experience, community leadership and strong partnerships.

The Role

We are seeking someone who can build meaningful connections with Liverpool’s multicultural communities and help generate sustainable income for our equity based mental health work.

The post focuses on:

creating community-led initiatives that bring people together and raise funds
forming long-term partnerships and sponsorships with community groups, local businesses, universities and faith organisations
developing and promoting paid training offers on cultural awareness and youth mental health for trusted adults such as parents, carers and professionals.
Key Responsibilities

Design and deliver low-cost community activities (for example shared meals, clothes swaps, heritage or cultural events) that are cost-neutral or supported by sponsorship, in-kind support or small grants.
Build and maintain partnerships with community organisations, faith groups, cultural associations, universities and local businesses.
Secure sponsorships, small grants or other financial support to meet agreed income targets.
Develop and market short paid training sessions on cultural awareness and youth mental health for schools, community groups and professionals.
Work towards an annual income contribution of approximately £30,000 – £35,000 through the combined activities above.
Record income and partnerships using the charity’s CRM and provide regular progress reports to senior management.
Person Specification

Essential

Deep understanding of and trusted relationships within racially and culturally diverse communities.
Experience of community engagement, partnership building or grassroots fundraising.
Ability to design and deliver income-generating activities and/or training.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Willingness to work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends.
Right to work in the UK on an ongoing full-time basis.We are not able to sponsor visas. Applicants must already hold a status that permits full-time work (for example British/Irish citizenship, Indefinite Leave to Remain, Settled or Pre-Settled Status, or another visa with full-time work rights for the duration of employment).
Desirable

Experience delivering training or securing sponsorship and small-grant funding.
