Summary
Are you ready to get hands-on and build a real career in engineering? Just left school and wondering what’s next? We’re looking for a motivated young person who’s ready to learn a trade, develop real skills, and become part of a friendly, supportive workshop team here in Kettering.
You’ll be taught how to:
1) Use equipment like bandsaws, pallet stacker, inspection equipment, hand tools, all engineering workshop equipment.
2) Read technical drawings and understand how to turn them into real components
3) Learn and follow workshop health and safety, safe working practices.
4) Help in day-to-day workshop tasks and learn by doing.
As you progress, you'll:
Assist with the CNC milling machines and lathes
Get an introduction to machine programming, progress onto software.
Learn how to produce fixtures and components from start to finish
This isn’t just a job — it’s a pathway to becoming an engineer with a future in manufacturing, design, or machining.
You’ll be taught how to:
