Summary
A Personal Assistant is required to support a thirteen-year-old autistic boy with ADHD and attachment difficulties, living in Perranporth.
He is looking for someone with whom he can build a positive and trusting relationship. The role involves providing 1:1 support to help him engage in local community activities and develop his independence after school and at weekends.
He thrives in outdoor environments and especially enjoys skateboarding, scootering, biking, and surfing. He also loves Lego and gaming.
Rate of Pay: £12.60 per hour, with potential for a higher rate depending on experience and relevant skills.
Hours: 9 hours per week, with flexible scheduling to suit the candidate’s availability. Availability after school, on weekends, and during school holidays is required.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support a young person in building confidence, gaining independence, and making meaningful progress in his life.
Experience supporting young people on the autism spectrum would be a distinct advantage.
A full driving licence is desirable but not essential.
Please note: The family has two large dogs (a German Shepherd and a Dutch Shepherd), so the personal assistant must be comfortable with dogs in the home.
The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family, and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.
