Job Overview:
The Residential Estate Block Cleaner will be responsible for the hands-on cleaning and maintenance of communal areas in residential blocks, including hallways, entrances, and reception areas. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with at least one year of recent continuous cleaning experience, preferably in council blocks or reputable facilities management companies. The cleaner must deliver consistently high standards to meet the expectations of residents and onsite management teams.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly clean communal areas (hallways, entrances, reception areas) to a consistently high standard
  • Perform tasks such as mopping, dusting, vacuuming, litter picking, and waste disposal with attention to detail
  • Identify and promptly report any maintenance issues, hazards, or cleanliness concerns to management
  • Travel between locations within Angel, Old Town, and Camden Town, allowing approximately 30 minutes for transit
  • Work independently with strong time-management skills to complete duties efficiently within allocated hours
  • Maintain a professional and resident-focused approach, understanding the importance of visible cleanliness in public-facing areas

Working Conditions:

  • 25 hours a week Monday to Friday. Will be prebooked ahead of time.
  • Approximately 5 hours minimum per site, covering multiple residential blocks
  • Locations are within close proximity, facilitating short travel between sites

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of recent continuous cleaning experience, ideally in residential estate or council block environments
  • Proven skills in core cleaning tasks including mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and litter picking
  • Comfortable performing hands-on cleaning duties rather than supervisory or managerial tasks
  • Strong attention to detail, with a focus on the appearance of public-facing communal areas
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor
  • Physically capable of performing cleaning duties efficiently
  • Ability to work autonomously and follow procedural knowledge on cleaning methods and health & safety standards

This position is ideal for a career cleaner experienced in residential environments who takes pride in maintaining high standards and providing a welcoming environment for residents.
