We are looking for a Development Manager & Analyst EMEA to join our team, helping to expand our luxury serviced apartment portfolio across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. This is a key position where you will to identify, research and analyse new business opportunities for our portfolio, by conducting market research, building financial models, and creating feasibility studies to support investment decisions and strategic growth plans.

This position will also focus on market analysis, site evaluation, and preparing presentations for internal committees and stakeholders. Success in the role requires strong analytical skills, financial modelling capabilities, market research expertise, and excellent communication for collaboration and reporting.

What you’ll be doing as Development Manager & Analyst:

  • Conduct in-depth research on market trends, demographics, and economic indicators to identify potential areas for development.
  • Analyse competitor activities, demand generators and potential site characteristics.
  • Build complex financial models (proformas) to evaluate the financial viability and investment potential of new projects. Underwrite deals, assessing revenue potential, operating expenses, and development costs.
  • Prepare comprehensive feasibility studies, which involve detailed analysis of market conditions, operational assumptions, and financial projections to determine the success potential of a project.
  • Assist in the entire lifecycle of development deals, from initial opportunity identification through due diligence and closing processes. This involves assisting in the review of legal documents and coordinating with various internal and external parties.
  • Create compelling presentations, deal summaries, EOI’s, LOI’s, investment memoranda, deal flow reports and pipeline updates, and case studies for senior management and investment committees.
  • Support the development team in evaluating new business opportunities and identifying strategic areas for brand expansion.
  • Collect, analyse, and maintain data related to market performance, competitor activities, and historical project financials in spreadsheets and databases.
  • Nurture meaningful relationships with industry watchers and key real estate agents to maintain current knowledge of the market and competition.

What we're looking for:

  • Experience in a similar role within the real estate, hotel or serviced apartment industry, with a focus on the EMEA region is beneficial.
  • A bachelor's degree in finance, real estate, hospitality management, economics, or a related field.
  • Strong ability to analyse complex data, interpret market trends, and conduct financial due diligence.
  • Proficiency in building and manipulating financial models to support analyses and valuations.
  • Experience with market research tools and sources, such as Smith Travel Research (STR) reports, to support market analysis would be beneficial.
  • Proficient in MS applications including advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for preparing reports and presenting findings to various stakeholders.
  • A strong focus on detail is crucial for ensuring accuracy in financial models and data analysis, especially whilst handling multiple projects on short timescales.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
