Summary

PERMANENT ROLE – 4 ON 4 OFF – £34,932.17 PER ANNUM

Class 1 Shunter Drivers are needed as part of our general haulage supply chain for our British Salt contract based out of Middlewich. The role of the shunter driver will be predominately site-based, however if required, assist with other duties including collections and deliveries.

  • £34,932.17 per annum
  • Start time - 18:00
  • Candidates must be flexible
  • 12 hours shifts
  • Night shift
  • 4 on 4 off
  • 42.46 hours per week
  • £19.78 per hour paid after 184hrs worked per month
  • £1.46 per hour night premium
  • £21.47 - 6th shift non scheduled
  • £26.56 - 7th shift non scheduled
  • £26.20 - night out allowance
  • 20.5 days holiday including bank holidays

How will you contribute:

  • Site-based role.
  • Must be flexible, if required, assist with other duties including collections and deliveries.
  • Responsible for the accurate, timely movement and delivery of our customers’ products.
  • Adhering to safe working practices to ensure the safety of yourself and others at all times.
  • Securing the load of the trailer to ensure products are safely secured to minimise chances of damage.
  • Provide excellent customer service at all times and take ownership of customer issues on delivery.
  • Carry out multi-drop deliveries within the delivery window in a safe manner when required
  • Be aware of the vehicle defects and bring them to the attention of the Transport Office as necessary.
  • Attend essential training in order to carry out the Driver role.
  • The requirement to complete updates and daily tasks utilising the provided interactive device (PDA).

What will you bring:

  • Must have valid in date Class 1 licence
  • Must hold a valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC Card)
  • Must hold Digital Tachograph card
  • Must not have more than 6 points on licence
  • Must have minimum 12 months Class 1 driving experience
  • Possess excellent customer facing awareness skills
  • Good timekeeper and able to work unsupervised
  • Enthusiastic and reliable with a commitment to delivering 1st class customer service
  • Must have good communication skills and a flexible can-do attitude to work
  • Must have a good geographical knowledge
