Summary

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Legal Assistant to join a High Value Personal Injury team, supporting a Fee Earner on complex, multi-track claims. The position offers excellent scope for career progression — the previous assistant has recently been promoted internally to a Fee Earner role, and the same pathway is available for the successful candidate.

Key Responsibilities

- Taking initial instructions from clients and preparing draft witness statements
- Preparing draft letters of claim and other correspondence
- Managing court timetables and ensuring compliance with deadlines
- Liaising with experts, counsel, and clients, and dealing with general enquiries
- Attending conferences with counsel (both in person and remotely)
- Taking witness statements relating to liability and quantum
- Conducting research into legal and quantum issues
- Preparing key court documents such as claim forms, particulars of claim, and schedules of loss
- Instructing and briefing counsel as required
- Providing ongoing legal support to the supervising Fee Earner

Candidate Requirements

- Proven experience or qualifications to perform successfully at Senior Legal Assistant (Grade A Fee Earner) level
- Strong knowledge of litigation processes, MOJ portal procedures, and Civil Procedure Rules
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to handle pressure effectively
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Compassion, empathy, and excellent communication abilities
