Summary
We are looking for a patient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 class on a long-term temporary basis, starting as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to a child’s learning journey in a friendly primary school environment.
Duties as SEN Teaching Assistant:
Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils in Year 3 with special educational needs (SEN).
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo and external specialists to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
Adapt learning materials and activities to suit individual needs and promote inclusion.
Support students’ social, emotional and behavioural development to help them gain confidence and independence.
Assist with classroom preparation and maintain a positive, safe learning environment.
Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:
Experience working with children who have SEN (such as ASD, ADHD, or other learning differences) is highly desirable.
A caring and empathetic approach with excellent communication skills as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) are an advantage, though strong practical experience will also be considered.
