We are looking to recruit an experienced individual to join our established team. Reporting to our Senior Building Surveyor, our Multi Skilled Operative provide an integral part of our Building Defects & Disrepair Team, you’ll deliver a high quality, efficient and effective damp and mould service to our customers. This will include wiping down and cleaning damp and mould and accurately recording damp and mould in properties.
What do our Multi Skilled Operative do;
Conduct thorough cleaning and treatment of damp and mould.
Apply preventive measures to minimise future damp and mould issues.
Escalate property issues which require the technical expertise of a surveyor in addressing damp and mould and other building defects, identifying the cause wherever possible.
To install, renew or repair: floors, timber stud partitions, component parts of trussed and traditional roofs, glazing, timber fencing and gates, kitchen units and worktops, skirtings, rails and architraves, ducting and panelling, internal and external doors and windows in a timely manner and within agreed budgets
To undertake a range of minor plumbing works, including the installation, renewal and repair of rainwater goods, sink tops, sanitary ware and associated supply and waste pipework and fittings, in a timely manner and within agreed budgets.
To undertake a range of minor wall finishing repairs, including plasterboard and patch plastering to walls and ceilings, cracks, external render and floors in a timely manner and within agreed budgets
What we are looking for;
City and Guilds Craft or minimum NVQ level 2 in an appropriate craft based trade or substantial relevant experience
Experience of working as part of a multidiscipline team.
Experience of working collaboratively in a busy team environment.
Managing and prioritising a demanding workload.
Customer focused and a desire to provide services to a high standard.
This is a hands-on role at the heart of the service that MSV delivers to our customers, so your effective communication skills and ability to understand with empathy the diverse needs of our customers will be key. You’ll be based in the communities we serve and will work under minimum supervision and as part of a team using a flexible approach.
